Examples of lithium upgrades
These are examples of work we can plan for your boat, rather than completed case studies.
A Fogstar house battery upgrade
Choose a suitable battery capacity, review shore and solar charging, and check alternator charging arrangements and battery protection.
A monitored power system
Combine a suitable lithium bank with battery monitoring and compatible Victron equipment so you can understand how much energy remains.
A system for longer stays aboard
Plan inverter loads, charging sources, usable storage and future expansion around your actual time afloat.
Allow around two weeks for a full installation
A complete installation typically takes around two weeks of installation work. Your written quote will confirm the scope and expected schedule after we have assessed the boat. Equipment availability, access and additional work can affect this estimate. Smaller upgrades are planned individually; booking lead time is separate.

Why consider lithium?
Lithium iron phosphate batteries offer high energy density: more energy for their weight and volume. Efficient charging and the ability to accept higher charging currents can be useful too, where the selected battery and charging system support them.
A battery upgrade, not just a battery swap
We consider the compatibility of shore-power chargers, solar controllers and alternator charging, alongside protection and monitoring. Different batteries have different requirements, including how their battery management system connects to the rest of the installation.
Choose around your own use
The right capacity depends on what you want to run, how long you spend away from charging and the installation space. We can discuss Fogstar batteries and Victron equipment as part of the options, without assuming one setup suits every boat.
